"Diversity Czar" Mark Lloyd

Name: Mark Lloyd
Official Title: Associate General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer, Federal Communications Commission
Better Known As: The “Diversity Czar”

If you didn’t already have a laundry list of reasons to utterly dispise the FCC, here’s one that should convince you; “Diversity Czar” Mark Lloyd, a former senior fellow of the Center for American Progress (George Soros’s ultra-liberal think-tank), happens to be a big proponent of restoring the “Fairness Doctrine”, an ironically named abomination of free speech policy.

But that’s just his immediate goal – his long-term plan is to silence the voice of conservatism for good.

“What he lays out is a battle plan to use the FCC to threaten stations’ licenses with whom they do not agree with politically, and now he’s at the FCC waiting to take their calls,” said Seton Motley, director of communcations for the Media Research Center. “This is not about serving the local interest, it’s about political opposition.”

Sound familiar? The Obama Administration seems to have declared war on Fox News, with White House lackeys like Anita Dunn calling them “the research arm” of the Republican Party and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel declaring that Fox “[is] not a news organization”. The attacks on Fox seem to be one step in a dangerous game towards eliminating free press in the United States.

Lloyd has stated that he wants to “regulate much of the programming on these stations to make sure they focused on ‘diverse views’ and government activities”, adding that he supports the redistribution of wealth from commerical broadcasters to fund public broadcasting. It appears that Mr. Lloyd plans on using the power of the FCC to shut out dissenting voices in the media, and impose harsh fines on media outlets that don’t fall in line with his leftist agenda.

At best, this is a gross abuse of power. At worst, it’s a step towards fascism.

In His Own Words:

“The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) must be reformed along democratic lines and funded on a substantial level. Federal and regional broadcast operations and local stations should be funded at levels commensurate with or above those spending levels at which commercial operations are funded. This funding should come from license fees charged to commercial broadcasters. Funding should not come from congressional appropriations. Sponsorship should be prohibited at all public broadcasters.”

“…if they [commercial broadcasters] don’t want to be subject to local criticism of how they are meeting their license obligations, they should pay to support public broadcasters who will operate on behalf of the local community.”
