Better Known As: The “Car Czar”
Ron Bloom is unabashedly pro-union. Therefore it comes as no surprise that he is in charge of all White House decisions regarding car company buyouts. In spite of the fact that he started his own private investment-banking firm, Keilen and Bloom, Ron Bloom hates free-market capitalism. This hypocritical stance leads many critics (including Informed-Dissent contributors) to wonder whether Mr. Bloom actually hates the free-market, or just wants to control it.
Bloom has a deep history working for multiple unions including the UAW, USW and SEIU. Like Obama and Sunstein, Ron Bloom is a graduate of Harvard University. Clearly he is just another “man of the people.”

“Generally speaking we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market, or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money because they’re convinced that there is a free lunch. We know this is largely about power, that it’s an adults only, no limit game. We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun. And we get it that if you want a friend, you should get a dog.”
